T-Mobile has decided to skip the last two races of the year, the Paris-Tours and the Giro di Lombardia, due to ongoing drug test issues with it’s riders. It was reported that last month Lorenzo Bernucci failed a drug test in the Vuelta a Espagna and prior to the Tour de France Patrik Sinkewitz tested positive.
Citing their charter, which calls for the team to suspend racing if its’ riders fail drug tests, manager Bob Stapleton said “With this decision we follow the spirit of the team ethical code.”
By the way, both riders have been fired by the team.
