The city of San Antonio, Elite Racing and RunTex announced yesterday the creation of a major running event in ’08… The Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon San Antonio. This marathon and half-marathon will replace the city’s
existing Marathon of the Americas which began life in 1975 as the Las Colonias Marathon.
Elite Racing, which produces five other music-themed marathons and half-marathons, estimates that its first-year event in ’08 will draw approximately 21,000 runners and generate a $20 million economic impact for San Antonio.
