Sunday marked the 21st running of the celebrity studded Nautica Malibu Triathlon. The Nautica Tri has become the event for Tinseltown’s athletes to be seen in. Perennial regular David Duchovny, comedian Jon Cryer (remember him?) and even Carl Lewis turned out for this year’s charity event, which raised more than $718,000 for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles for Pediatric Cancer Research. Continuing his recent tear, Andy Baldwin (from “The Bachelor”) and Pamela Conley Ulich, Malibu’s mayor pro-tem, took the celebrity division wins.
Oh - and the elite men’s winner was Chris Foster, finishing in 1:15:32 (he’s also the 2006 Wildflower men’s champ) and the elite women’s division was won by Anissa Sequin (1:30:06).
For an up close and personal peak into what it was like in the men pro’s race, check out this well done race report from Chris himself - including why he chose to do the race at the last minute (hint: Macca)
